Fasting and Abstinence this Wednesday
All Catholics are asked to refrain from eating any meat this Wednesday for those starting at the age of 14. The law of fasting is also to be observed for those between the ages of 18-59 in which one is limited to one full meal and two lighter meals. Those with medical conditions in which fasting would be harmful are dispensed. Abstaining from meat and the practice of fasting are public ways in which we are united to the sufferings of Christ who died and rose for our salvation.
Abstinence on Fridays of Lent
All Catholics are asked to refrain from eating any meat on the Fridays of Lent for those starting at the age of 14 as we recall the day when our Lord was crucified.
